Dress Code
Here at Step Above Most we enforce a strict dress code. This encourages both discipline and respect while giving the dance instructor the opportunity to see the alignment of each dancer. Your attire in class is imperative to proper training. There are many companies that make specific clothing for dancers. We expect that you will go to these companies when shopping for dancewear. The cut of a leotard is different for each dancer than for a gymnast or fitness expert. For this reason, we recommend brands such as Capezio, Bloch, Mirella and Danskin. Feel free to ask us where you can find these and other brands specifically for dancers.
Ballet
Hair must be worn in a neat and tidy bun secured with multiple bobby pins and a hair net. There is to be no schrunchies or hair accessories. Hairspray or gel is a must. Shoes may be leather or canvas -- recommended brands Capezio, Bloch, Grishko or Sansha. Tights must be pink with a seamed back leg -- recommended brands Capezio, Bloch or Danskin. Skirts may be worn at the barre only.
